Home Care

Home Care is health or supportive care provided in the patient’s home by healthcare professionals or caregivers.  Generally Home Care refers to non-medical services that assist individuals with activities of daily living while providing one-on-one assistance in the comfort of their own home. Not only does Home Care enable patients to maintain their independence and quality of life; it can be a lifesaver for family members.  And, the personal attention patients receive enhance their safety, health and happiness.

Below are brief descriptions of several types of Home Care to contemplate as you evaluate your situation and needs.  In addition to consulting with your senior family member and relevant medical or therapeutic professionals, consider a "needs assessment," by a care manager or home care specialist.
